 Colleen Betts, RN, BSN, LNC is a legal nurse consultant and the founder of Nepstad Betts. Working with attorneys across the country, she has collaborated on hundreds of personal injury, wrongful death and medical malpractice cases.Colleen graduated from the University of Texas Medical Branch in 1985, and in 1993 she became a Certified Cardiovascular Perfusionist (operating the heart-lung machine for more than 1300 adult and pediatric open heart surgeries). Her clinical specialties have included adult and pediatric ICU/CCU, neonatal and pediatric cardiology, home health, psychiatry, and MR/DD nursing. She has served as a nurse educator and is a current faculty member of the Institute for Paralegal Education. Her teaching experience allows her to present even the most complex medical cases in language a jury can understand.
